Dedicated to the advancement of philanthropy and the helping of others, the Imani Kuumba Foundation, Inc. is an IRS certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 

 

Headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, its main focus is to promote higher intelligence through higher education by providing scholarships, student financial aid services, and awards to students that continuously strive for academic excellence.

Karen L. Wall Memorial Scholarship Award

• ​Started August 13, 2013

• $1,000 awards offered to New Jersey high school senior women attending their first year in college

• Awarded over $30,000 in scholarships and over 25 recipients since 2013

Florence Ruffin-Harrison Book Award

• Started August 15, 2016

• $500 book awards offered to New Jersey high school senior women attending their first year in college

• Awarded $4,000 in book awards since 2016

Karen Trower Scholarship

• Started in 2019

Supplies For Success

• Since 2011, this is an ongoing initiative to support K-12 grade students with school supplies during the school year

• Supplies include back packs, pencils, pens, notebooks, and essential classroom requirements
